Saturday and Sunday

Posted by Sam

Saturday morning we packed our bags, loaded the bus and headed to Casa De Esperanza. :) We came out here and played with the kiddos and ate lunch. This was the first time that I had been able to see these kids again, and it made this girls heart happy.  After our short visit we made the long bus trip back to San Salvador and stayed in a hotel for the night. We got into San Salvador around 8PM that evening and walked over to Burger King to eat dinner. Then hung out in the hotel room until it was time for bed. The next morning we got up early and had devo on the bus as we drove to the airport. It was rough on this girls heart. Really rough. I hate goodbyes, but there is something way harder about watching people that you love leave a place that has captured both of your hearts. But we hugged and cried, and they boarded the plane.

Jen, Delaney, Dan, Anna and I went to the bus station after they left and tried to get a seat on the bus for that afternoon that would bring us back to Tegucigalpa, but they only had one seat left. So, we ended up spending an extra night in San Salvador. We stayed in the Sheraton that was connected to the same building as the bus station. It was a BEAUTIFUL hotel. At first I was a little bummed that I wouldn't be able to get back to Casa that night, but once we got settled into the hotel I realized how much I needed a break where I had absolutely nothing to do. And we had exactly 24 hours until our bus left the next day. So we dropped our bags off in the hotel room and went downstairs and discovered a huge pool with a waterfall, hammocks on the side, and an outdoor restaurant. So we went swimming for a while, then got dinner at the restaurant. Then we found a sauna to lay in for a little bit while Jen got a massage. Then we all went down by the pool and played cards and laid in the hammocks to just relax. And we were in bed before 10PM. The next morning we woke up and had an amazing breakfast outside, then we went back upstairs and took a nap until it was time for our bus to leave. We finally made it back into Tegucigalpa around 9 and had dinner at TGI Fridays and were home by 11:30.  It was definitely a blessing to have had that break. God is good.
